Day 01 : Calicut – Wayanad
On arrival at Calicut, you will be received and driven to the picturesque hill district of Wayanad, known for its misty mountains, forests and spice plantations. As the road ascends through the Western Ghats, stop at the scenic Lakkidi View Point, which offers breathtaking views of the winding ghat roads and lush valleys below. Continue to the tranquil Pookode Lake, a beautiful freshwater lake surrounded by evergreen forests. Enroute also pass the historic Chain Tree, associated with a popular local legend of the region. Later proceed to Wayanad and check in to the hotel. Overnight stay at Wayanad.
Day 02 : Wayanad
After breakfast, proceed to explore the natural and cultural attractions of Wayanad. Visit the scenic Karapuzha Dam, one of the largest earth dams in India surrounded by hills and islands. Continue to the ancient Edakkal Caves, famous for prehistoric carvings and inscriptions that date back thousands of years. Later visit the Wayanad Heritage Museum which showcases artifacts and relics representing the tribal culture and history of the region. Conclude the day with a visit to the spectacular Soochipara Waterfalls, a three-tiered waterfall cascading through dense forests. Return to the hotel for overnight stay at Wayanad.
Day 03 : Wayanad
After breakfast, continue exploring the wilderness and spiritual sites of Wayanad. Visit Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary, part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, where jeep safaris offer opportunities to spot wildlife such as elephants, deer and birds. Later proceed to the sacred Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu set amidst forested hills. Nearby you can visit the holy Papanasini Stream, believed to cleanse sins according to local belief. Later explore the beautiful river island of Kuruva Island, a protected group of islands on the Kabini River known for its dense vegetation and bamboo rafting experiences. Return to the hotel for overnight stay at Wayanad.
Day 04 : Wayanad - Calicut
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and visit the impressive Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earth dam in India, surrounded by scenic hills and small islands formed by the reservoir. After enjoying the beautiful views and surroundings, begin the drive back to Calicut. On arrival you will be dropped at Calicut Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.
